Tzedek, Tzedek, Tirdof

The title is a Hebrew phrase meaning ‘Righteousness, righteousness, shall you pursue.’

As someone who is constantly seeking approval, I find that often, the only way to get the approval I want is to find it within myself, or within the satisfaction that comes from a job well done. Too often, people take things for granted, and don’t show the appreciation that is deserved from a particular act or favor. Living by the phrase ‘Tzedek, tzedek, tirdof” can give one peace, knowing that if one follows the path of righteousness, in the end, it will all work out.

Leading a life seeking approval is not a bad thing — as long as we can realize that the most important approval comes from the inside. If we approve of ourselves, and keep in mind the path of justice and right, we are living the way we should.

I’ve had my fair share of issues throughout my life. I’ve still developed into someone of worth, and more importantly, someone who does not rely on others to adjust my emotions or outlook. I lead my life with low expectations and high hopes, and I’m rarely disappointed.
